HarukaEDU launched Pintaria SUPER30, a Full Stack Developer scholarship program to find the 30 best scholars to be employed in some of big companies in Indonesia

Based on the data of IT developments in Indonesia, it is said that until 2030, Indonesia requires 17 millions people to work in the digital economy sector. This is in line with the increasing number of companies that are opening vacancies in the IT field, including start-ups. According to the Startup Ranking website, currently there are more than 2,000 start-ups in Indonesia, which place Indonesia in the fifth place as a country with the highest number of start-ups in the world. 

Along with the rapid growth of digital technology in Indonesia, Full Stack developer is one of the most sought after professions, where the talent could work as a front-end and back-end developer at the same time. As the world is heading towards the Industry 4.0 era, there will be many more companies and startups that require more competent Full Stack Developer talents. However, the high demand is inversely with the limitations of well qualified human resources. 

Bukhari Mardius, CEO of GreenHCM, a technology company on Human Capital Management said, “Many start-ups begin to find the IT talents way before the talents graduate from university. This situation occurs due to limited talent in the IT field.”

He also added the difficulties in finding Full Stack Developer candidates, especially for fresh graduates, “On average, what had been learnt in university is not enough to encounter the real problems in the startup industry. We need talent with ability to solve problems, encounter challenges, fast learning, and are always hungry to learn new things and update their technology competencies.”

Alfred Boediman, Managing Director of Samsung Research Indonesia, also faces difficulties in finding a Full Stack Developer. He usually uses GitHub or Stack Overflow to get a competent software engineer. But according to Alfred, the competent software engineer still needs experience, passion and training to get used to the tools and software that will be used in work.

To fulfill the needs of Full Stack Developer, Pintaria, a portal that provides a variety of lecture programs and training/courses, as a solution to all Indonesian who is willing to build career in IT field by conducting Pintaria SUPER30, a Full Stack Developer scholarship program and working opportunity with value of Rp 40mio/pax. This program was launched on February 10th, 2020 in Jakarta by Dr. Rudy Salahudin, Deputy for the Coordination of Creative Economy, Entrepreneurship and SME Competitiveness, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. Thousands of participants were registered to this program 1 week after the registration was opened. The registration was closed on February 23rd, 2020.

60 participants who passed the screening process will commit to attend Full Stack Developer intensive online learning for 6 months. They will learn hard skills and soft skills. There will be an elimination process every month to get the best 30 talents at the end of Pintaria SUPER30 program who will be employed as Junior Full Stack Developer by Pintaria partners, including Bank Mandiri, BFI Finance, Kompas.com, IDN Times, GetPlus Indonesia, and many more.

All PIntariaSUPER30 participants will be assisted by SUPERmentor, IT experts and leaders  who have decades of experience during the journey. Some of mentors are Managing Director of Samsung Research Indonesia Alfred Boediman, CIO GetPlus Endy Lambey, CTO HarukaEDU Erga Munggaran, ITMI Co-founder & CEO (Co-founder of Tiket.com) Natali Ardianto, CTO GDP Venture On Lee, Head of Engineering Ralali.com William Notowidagdo and others. They will share their experiences and stories of Full Stack Developer work in each industry to prepare the participants to be ready to work as Full Stack Developer. 

On Lee, CTO of GDP Venture, who has more than 30 years of experience as an IT practitioner in Silicon Valley, United States, expressed his optimism for young Indonesians who are interested in becoming IT practitioners, "Indonesia needs young talents to bring Indonesia's digital world and technology to be more advanced.
